It collects nothing.
This policy describes what the LinkedIn AI Extension browser extension ("the extension") does with your data. The short version: it collects nothing, stores your settings on your own device, and sends post text only to the AI service you chose, only when you click. Effective date: September 10, 2026.

What the extension collects
Nothing. The extension has no server, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no account system. The developer does not receive any data from the extension, and cannot see how you use it or what you send.
What the extension stores
Your settings: the AI service you selected and the list of menu actions with their prompts. These are stored in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. They are not synced to any server by the extension. Uninstalling the extension deletes them.
What the extension reads
The extension runs only on pages under https://www.linkedin.com/. On those pages it adds a button to each post. It does not read any post, and does not send anything anywhere, until you click one of the menu actions on that post.
When you click an action, the extension reads the following from that one post, as displayed on your screen:
· the author's name and headline,
· the post text,
· links to images in the post,
· comments that are currently visible on the post.
It does not read your own profile, your messages, your connections, other posts, or any other part of the page.
Where the data goes
The text read from the post is combined with your prompt and placed in the URL of a new browser tab, opened at the AI service you selected in the options (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Microsoft Copilot or Google). From that moment the data is handled by that service under its own terms and privacy policy, exactly as if you had pasted the text into its chat yourself. The extension has no further involvement.
The extension never sends data to the developer or to any other third party.
Permissions
The extension requests the minimum permissions needed to work:
· Access to linkedin.com pages (content_scripts on https://www.linkedin.com/*): to add the button to posts and read a post when you click.
· Storage (storage): to save your settings on your device.
It does not request access to any other website, your browsing history, tabs, cookies, or clipboard.
Remote code
The extension does not download or execute code from any server. All code ships inside the extension package and is reviewed by the Chrome Web Store before publication.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If the extension's data handling ever changes, this policy will be updated and the effective date revised. Because the extension does not collect contact information, changes are announced only here and in the Chrome Web Store listing.
